The History of Brows

Brows have changed quite a bit over the decades. Marilyn Monroe popularized a sultry arched brow in the 50s. Audrey Hepburn was well known for her thick, straight brows in the 60s. 70s disco was all about a thin brow and big lashes. In the 80s, Brooke Shields helped everyone embrace a natural, unmanicured brow. And we all remember the 90s pencil-thin brow which remained popular into the early 00s. Finally by 2010, the super polished Instagram brow had taken over with the help of products like the Anastasia Brow Wiz and Anastasia eyebrow pomade. By 2015 we began to transition to a more natural look and products like the Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow and the Glossier Boy Brow became popular.

Today, we’re all about the “no-makeup makeup” and opt for a youthful, fluffy brow that frames the face. Laminations are especially great for achieving this look. Our options for eyebrows have boomed. The 4 Best Brow Products for Natural Brows

As a licesensed aesthetician, makeup artist, and microblading/PMU artist, and CEO in the beauty industry, I’ve had the opportunity to test a lot of brow products. These are the best eyebrow products for natural brows. 

GrandeBROW-FILL

Grande Cosmetics makes some of the best brow products I’ve ever used. It is tried and true and never fails me. The GrandeBROW-FILL is my favorite brow gel that comes in four colors: 

• Clear
• Light
• Medium
• Dark

The eyebrow gel applicator is small so you can be as precise as possible. The small spoolie brush is great for getting individual hairs and the tip of your tail without getting product on your skin. The brow gel is formulated with mini fibers that add volume to the brow and peptides that condition the hair. The tinted brow gel formulations are pigmented enough that you won’t need a brow pencil or brow powder to fill them in. This brushes up the hair and fills it in, all in one step. Best of all, it lasts all day without being too stiff or crunchy. 

I love the clear brow gel for natural brow days or when I just want a little lift without color. It’s easy to touch-up and perfect for those who can never find the right color for their brows. Whether you have brunette, blonde, or red hair, you can’t go wrong with a clear gel. 

If you have sparse brows, I recommend going with a tinted gel. This removes the need for an eyebrow powder or brow pomade. It also requires less technique so you don’t have to spend 20 minutes drawing individual hair like strokes— save that for microblading. This brow product makes it easy to achieve thick brows in less than two minutes. The only thing you’ll have to decide is if your brows a more light blonde, medium brown, or dark brown. 

GrandeBROW Brow Enhancing Serum

London Brow is the queen of the brow lamination. I haven’t found anything better which is why I continue to import London Brow all the way from England. The things we do for good brows! 

The London Brow Ice Styling Wax is our solution to making your brow lamination last longer. It’s also a great way to get the laminated look at home without resorting to a brow styling soap. I use this styling wax when I don’t want my brows to move. You apply the product by brushing it into your eyebrows with a spoolie until they are shaped exactly how you want. That’s it. They’ll have a “firm yet soft hold for 24 hours” and stay in place until you wash your face. London Brow ICE goes on completely clear. It’s vegan, cruelty free, and free of synthetic ingredients, parabens, and fragrance.
